Los Angeles, CA (January 26, 2012) — Melody Street, a transmedia brand driven by the belief that music has the power to positively benefit the lives of young children, announces the launch of Mozart Interactive, an innovative, interactive video and free app for kids, based on characters from the Melody Street website (www.melodystreet.com) where musical instruments come to life through charming whimsical animated characters – each with their own distinctive personality and sound.
Available now at www.melodystreet.com/interactive/mozart, with the free mobile app for iPad, iTouch and iPhone available in February,Mozart Interactive features revolutionary seamless content delivery technology that creates a friendly lesson in music orchestration and allows viewers to become “conductors” of the story they’re watching, giving them the power to choose actions that control where the narrative takes them and ultimately affecting its outcome. With three different characters and four different sections of the piece to select from, kids can create a total of 81 unique videos to save and share with friends and family.
Mozart Interactive was created by Los Angeles-based Melody Street, LLC and technology pioneers Interlude (based in New York and Israel). Interlude’s patented technology platform allows consumers to create in real time a unique and dynamic version of a video that is based on pre-recorded audio and video segments. The result is a one-of-a-kind, sharable creation.
“We are delighted to announce the debut of ‘Mozart Interactive,’ the first-ever interactive, animated music video for kids,” says Gilad Benamram, co-founder and managing partner, Melody Street. “With this new technology, kids will be able to orchestrate one of Mozart’s most famous pieces by choosing which character instrument they would like to join the music and create a unique version every time they play it.”
“This is the first step into storytelling of the future,”adds Guy Frenkel, co-founder, Melody Street. “By utilizing emerging technologies, we can tell stories in a new way and for the first time enable a truly interactive viewing experience. As content creators in the children’s market, we are very excited about the possibilities.”
www.melodystreet.com/interactive/mozart features Melody Street’s host, 10-year-old Ethan Bortnick, playing a duet of Mozart’s Rondo Alla Turca with stringed pal Val Violin. The other characters – favorites Heidi Horn, Timmy Trumpet and Febe Flute – are eager to participate and keep interfering in the piece while Sammy Snare tries to keep control and get them off the stage in different, highly comical ways – all directed by the choices made by the viewer.
“Producing for parallel intercrossing timelines can get complicated,” says Frenkel, “but the end user experience is intuitive even for first time viewers, and the result–‘Mozart Interactive’ — is enchanting.”
On the site www.melodystreet.com, budding Beethovens can play games, listen to songs, download coloring pages, watch videos and read The House on Melody Street, a heart-warming story set to a symphonic score performed by a 60 piece orchestra in the style of “Peter the Wolf.”
