Evanston, IL (April 9, 2019) — The new award-winning children’s book that celebrates diversity in a delightfully, fruitful way, Sweet Neighbors Come in All Colors from Studio 9 and published by Bellwood Press, just received the Story Monsters Seal of Approval as among the best children’s books that “…inspire, inform, teach, or entertain.”

The book also received a Mom’s Choice® Gold Award as among the best in family-friendly media, products and services, and a Family Review Center Seal of Recommendation.

Based on a song by Dick Grover and now available nationwide in bookstores and online, the AbsoFRUITly delightful Sweet Neighbors Come in All Colors was written and illustrated by Lisa Blecker, with art direction and graphic design by C. Aaron Kreader.  It features an illustrious group of friendly fruit from the Farmers’ Market, which come in all shapes, sizes and colors, telling a sweet story about celebrating the diversity in all of us.

An added benefit to the bright, boldly designed storybook and easy-to-follow-along words, is a page of sheet music – “The Sweet Neighbors Come in all Colors” song, with original music by Grover and adapted lyrics by Blecker. Visit to hear the song and watch the video.

Sweet Neighbors Come in all Colors is designed for parents to help their children – ages 2-5 – explore what makes “neighbors” different, the same and lovable, through the delightful colorful, medley of fruit. And, “Sweet Neighbors” is a great way to introduce early learners to colors of the rainbow!

About Story Monsters

The Story Monsters Approved! book designation program was developed to recognize and honor accomplished authors in the field of children’s literature that inspire, inform, teach, or entertain. A Story Monsters seal of approval on your book tells teachers, librarians, and parents they are giving children the very best. Kids know when they see the Story Monsters Approved! seal, it means children their own age enjoyed the book and are recommending they read it, too. How do they know that? Because after books pass a first round of rigorous judging by industry experts, the books are then judged by a panel of youth judges who must also endorse the books before they can receive the official seal of approval.  Visit
