New York, (July 7, 2010) – Middle East meets West with some very special – and occasionally furry – guests in Shalom Sesame, an “edu-taining” new series from the creators of Sesame Street featuring American and Israeli celebrities Debra Messing, Achinoam Nini, Mira Awad, Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Christina Applegate, Greg Kinnear, Debi Mazar and Ben Stiller, arriving on DVD October 5, 2010 from SISU Home Entertainment.
Join lovable, furry Grover and celebrity host Anneliese van der Pol (That’s So Raven, Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast) as they travel to Israel to meet new people and learn new things in this 12-part DVD series co-produced by Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, and Israel’s Channel HOP!  Designed to help bring the vitality of Jewish culture and tradition as well as the diversity of Israeli life to American children and their families, each 30-minute, live-action and animated DVD will focus on storylines drawn from Jewish cultural traditions, highlighting lessons on Hebrew letters and words, unique sites in Israel, and Jewish values. 
Initial titles in the launch include “Welcome to Israel” and “Chanukah: The Missing Menorah” and will be available nationwide on DVD October 5, 2010.  Future titles will be released beginning January 2011 and, through familiar and new Muppet characters, celebrities and stories, viewers will learn about Jewish traditions, culture and holidays.  Aspects of Jewish life such as celebrating Shabbat, exploring Jewish values and mitzvoth, and the Hebrew alphabet will be introduced, along with holidays such as Purim, Passover, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.
As with all Sesame Workshop series, Shalom Sesame is not just for television.  This multimedia project will also have a free website tailored for use at home and in school launching along with the DVD series.  The website www.ShalomSesame.org will feature content from the new Shalom Sesame in the form of activities and games, videos, caregiver tips and activity suggestions for educators. Additionally Shalom Sesame-themed community outreach events will take place, bringing series content to families in Jewish communities across the country.

DVD SYNOPSIS:
There’s no disguising the fun with Shaun the Sheep^™ and his barnyard buddies in this party-fest of wild antics from the Oscar^®-winning creators of “Wallace and Gromit^™”. The farm is once again party central as Shaun, Bitzer, Timmy and those Naughty Pigs cause all sorts of mayhem, from flying cue balls and pillow fights to nights of disguise and intrigue. Grab your invitation to laughter for some sheep-herding mayhem that’s sure to rock the flock!
 Episodes include:

• “Party Animals” - The farmer throws a costume party for his birthday. When Bitzer loses all the invitations, Shaun saves the day again. Disguised in their own ingenious costumes, the sheep stand in as the guests. But can they fool the Farmer into believing he is surrounded by his friends? 

  
  

• “Double Trouble” - A bored Shaun dresses up as the Farmer to entertain the flock. Realizing he now has the power to boss Bitzer around; Shaun takes the opportunity to throw a party for the flock. All goes according to plan until Bitzer puts two and two together. Then Shaun encounters the real Farmer…

• “Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow” - The Farmer is preparing for a date! He wants to look his best so it’s time to dust off his prized hairpiece. Shaun can’t resist trying the wig on but loses it while showing off to the flock. The race is on as Shaun and Bitzer try to return the wig in time for the Farmer’s big night.

 

• “Pig Swill Fly” - The farm is looking spotless and everyone is on their best behavior when the dreaded farm inspector pays a visit. While the Inspector checks out the inside of the farmhouse, war breaks out in the field between the sheep and the pigs. Can Bitzer prevent the Inspector from noticing as the chaos escalates outside?

 

·       “Operation Pidsley” - While the Farmer is away, the sheep sneak into the farmhouse for a party. But when Pidsley snaps a photograph of the fun and games, Shaun and Bitzer need to catch the malicious cat before he can show the incriminating evidence to the Farmer.

 

• “Shaun Goes Potty” - The farm receives a delivery of a brand new pool table. Before the Farmer can take it indoors, Bitzer and the flock have a game with disastrous consequences. They must repair the damage before the Farmer finds out!

• “Pig Trouble” - When Bitzer injures his foot and can’t work, the Farmer chooses the pigs to take over his role. The power crazy pigs take the opportunity to turn the farm into a porky paradise – at the sheep’s expense. Bitzer tries in vain to warn his master what is going on behind his back, but it’s Shaun who steps in and restores the status quo.

DVD SYNOPSIS

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to take center stage with Angelina Ballerina! On Angelina’s first day at Camembert Academy she discovers new forms of music and dance, like jazz, tap and hip hop, and meets new friends who have their own unique rhythm.  Together with her friends new and old, like best friend Alice and the new Hip-Hop Kid AZ, Angelina realizes that becoming a prima ballerina requires collaboration and compromise, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun!  Get ready to step, leap and groove as you discover your own love of dance in these fun-filled episodes!

 

• “Angelina’s New School” – Angelina is excited, yet nervous, about her first day of school at Camembert Academy.  When she finds her new classmates proficient in other styles of dance, she tries to copy their moves – without success.  Angelina soon discovers that when she’s true to her own style of dance – ballet – she excels, and soon understands that everyone is different, and different is good.

• “Angelina’s Dance Partner” – Angelina is ecstatic to have the opportunity to dance with her best friend, Alice, at Camembert Academy’s “Dance With a Partner Day.”  Angelina likes to choreograph the routine down to the very last detail and Alice is happy to oblige!  Unfortunately, when Alice gets the sniffles Angelina must partner with Viki, whose style of improvisation contradicts with Angelina’s style. Angelina learns the importance of collaboration, cooperation and adaptability when working with a partner.

• “Angelina’s Oldest Friend” – Angelina loves her new Camembert Academy friends and also loves her old friend Alice.  She expects that both sets of friends will love each other too. Unfortunately, their first encounter is not as smooth as Angelina would have liked so the new and old friends work together to find a new way to play so all can have fun.

• “Angelina’s Sleepover” – Angelina, Viki and Gracie decide to have a sleepover the night before a rehearsal for the big performance, but they do everything except sleep! The next day they are too tired for the morning rehearsal and have to choose between an afternoon rehearsal or attending the annual Silly Hat Carnival, a fun tradition in Mouseland. Angelina and her friends decide to rehearse and learn that being prepared is the best fun of all! 

• “Angelina and the Hip Hop Kid” – Angelina is very excited to be directing her very first Hip Hop Show when suddenly her star, AZ, falls and hurts his foot!  Who can step into his shoes at the last minute?  Marco is the number one choice.  However, though he can play Hip Hop music, dancing Hip Hop is another thing.  The show is in danger of not going on… unless Angelina can come up with a solution in time!
